Landfill Services

The district landfill at 806 Farm Road in Waipukurau is only open to commercial operators and contractors with a landfill tag. It is not open to the public.

The landfill is open from Monday to Friday, 8.30 am to 2.30 pm, and is accessible only with a landfill tag. Users must allow enough time to ensure they vacate the site before closing time. Anyone wishing to gain access to the landfill outside of its operating hours must contact us on 06 857 8060.

The landfill is CLOSED on weekends and public holidays.

Conditions of use

The following conditions apply to all trade refuse users of the landfill:

• The disposal of special waste is accepted by permit only. For asbestos contaminated special waste, please fill in the asbestos application form. For non-asbestos contaminated waste, please fill in the special waste form. Please email the form to landfill@chbdc.govt.nz
• Prohibited waste that does not comply with waste acceptance criteria for Class A landfills will not be accepted at our facilities. Please check the Ministry for the Environment waste acceptance criteria.
• The operator has the right to deny entry to users who do not follow the site instructions, who breach health and safety rules, or who bring in prohibited waste.
• Council will invoice commercial users at appropriate intervals. We will assess the volumes of refuse and disposal charges will be based on the volume of refuse in the vehicle, not the compacted volume in the landfill. Our assessment of volumes will be final.
• Unless arranged by prior agreement with Council or the landfill operator, there is no after-hour access available to the landfill. No keys to the landfill will be issued.
• Additional charges may apply for waste that requires immediate burial or after-hours burial.
• All landfill fees include $69 waste levy (including GST) and $77.92 carbon credit (GST exempt).
