Details about Pourerere Beach

Pourerere Beach

Whether you're feeling bright and breezy or taking it slow, Pourerere Beach is the perfect spot to unwind. Just a 35-minute scenic drive from Waipawa through rolling farmlands, you'll find this gem along Central Hawke’s Bay’s stunning coast. Pourerere offers kilometres of pristine white sand, rockpools to explore, and a sheltered lagoon ideal for swimming with little ones.

For day trippers, surfers, and sunseekers, the beach is a paradise. Bring a picnic, relax on the sand, or enjoy fishing and diving in the clear waters. Pourerere’s two settlements add charm to your visit, with a boat launch, camping ground, and classic Kiwi baches. The ever-changing lagoon and peaceful surroundings offer something new each visit.

You don’t have to get in the water to enjoy Pourerere Beach - relax and take in the sight of boats launching and kids building sandcastles. As the sun sets, the walk back to your car, bach, or campsite, with sandy feet and sun-kissed skin, is the perfect way to end a wonderful day at the beach.
