Water Restrictions in an Emergency Event

In case of an emergency event, Level 4 Total Water Ban may apply due to the heightened risk of plant failure or high turbidity from our water sources at our water treatment plants. This aims to maintain water reservoir levels for as long as possible and take the pressure off the plants to produce. Level 4 water restrictions are put in place as a measure to avoid or prolong boil water notices.

In the event of an emergency requiring Level 4 Total Water Ban:

  • use water for emergency purposes only.
  • conserve water wherever and whenever you can.
  • please do not use your washing machine or dishwasher.
  • please do not rush to flush - if it’s yellow, let it mellow.
  • please limit showers to two minutes only.
  • check out our water saving tips for other ways that you can save water.
