Services and operating hours for transfer stations, rural recycling trailers, landfill and drop-off centres.

Transfer Stations

Waipukurau Transfer Station is open seven days a week with adjusted operating hours.
Monday to Friday: 9.30 am-4.30 pm. Saturday and Sunday: 9 am-5 pm.

Pōrangahau Transfer Station has adjusted operating hours.
Wednesday and Sunday: 1 pm-3 pm.

All transfer stations will be closed Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Good Friday and ANZAC Day.

Recycling Drop-off Centres

These are located in Waipukurau, Waipawa, Pōrangahau, Otāne, Tikokino, Ongaonga and Takapau and are open 24 hours. 

Mobile Recycling Trailers

Two mobile recycling trailers operate in our rural communities where drop-off centres and kerbside collections are unavailable. 

The trailers operate from 8 am to 4 pm on the following days and locations:

  • Monday & Tuesday: Elsthorpe Hall and Argyll Hall
  • Wednesday:  Omakere Hall
  • Thursday & Friday: Sherwood School and Flemington School

The trailers do not operate on Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Good Friday and Anzac Day. Sometimes the service may be disrupted due to unforeseen circumstances eg severe weather events or unplanned road closures. We will let people know via our Facebook page and this website as soon as we can.
