We provide designated car parks for the mobility impaired across the district.

We provide designated mobility car parking spaces for the mobility impaired across the district, which are illustrated in the map below. There are currently 27 on and off-street mobility parking spaces for those displaying a CCS Mobility permit (or other approved permits).

There is also a number of off-street mobility parking spaces provided by businesses in Waipukurau and Waipawa. These are available for customers to use and are not monitored by Council as they are on private property.

If a mobility space is not available, vehicles displaying a CCS Mobility permit are allowed to park in a standard parking space for longer than the normally allocated time.

When using a mobility parking space, your permit must be clearly displayed on your vehicle's dashboard or hanging from the inside rear vision mirror, as some permits are designed to do. Our parking enforcement officers carry out regular inspections of mobility parks. Failure to display a current mobility permit while occupying one of these spaces may result in a parking infringement notice of $750 as of 1 October 2024, even for those who have a card but have forgotten to display it.

You can read more information about mobility parking regulations and how to apply for a permit on CCS Disability Action's website, or contact our team anytime on 06 857 8060.
