Uku Clay Ceramic Awards 2024

UKU Clay Hawke’s Bay is a biennial exhibition which is proud to host the National Ceramics Awards. In 2024 it will return to the Hastings Community Arts Centre for a 3 week period as part of the Hawke’s Bay Arts Festival Taster series.

Featuring entries from all around Aotearoa, this year's selectors are the dynamic duo of Peter and Julie Collis, and organisers Anette Bull and Natham Crossan say "Selecting this show and the award winners has been such a rewarding task for them both, and surprisingly harmonious! Viewing and discussing each piece submitted and enjoying the wonderful variety of the work being done today validates the continuing strength of the contemporary ceramic movement in New Zealand".

Annette and Natham go on to say "Thank you to Peter and Julie for being this year's selectors, and to all of you who entered your best work, whether it is part of the exhibition or not... This exhibition is down to all of you." We encourage you to come in and vote for the People's Choice Award, sponsored by Taradale Pottery Club. Other awards include;

Premier Award: Sponsored by Muse Art Gallery
Sponsored Exhibition: Sponsored by The Rabbit Room Gallery
Tableware Award: Sponsored by Sai Pottery for Home and Hospitality
Hand Built Award: The Pottery Studio
Merit Awards: Sponsored by Bot Pots
