With 2023 underway we are cracking into what we want the CHB Business Network to be, do and achieve. Owner of Sloans, Justine Kidd, has taken on the leadership of this forum and is keen for local business to get involved. “This is an initiative that empowers Central Hawke’s Bay Business to collaborate, innovate and grow with the support of the Central Hawke’s Bay District Council to get things done for the betterment of our local business economy, which makes for a better CHB for everyone. But for this to work Business Owners need to get involved and get talking”.
The Network will be renaming itself to better reflect it’s mission “Business led, Council supported economic growth” and Justine alongside Business Economic Development Lead, Bevan Trotman, will be getting out and about talking with Business Owners to get their input on initiatives.
The Network also takes the lead on the Business After 5 “BA5” functions which will be held monthly this year. These are an opportunity for Business’s to network, catch up, share experiences and stories. Justine says she “is looking to create a calendar of events that provides for both topic experts to share and businesses to learn from each other.”
All Business Owners are welcome and encouraged to join the CHB Business Network by coming along, with our next meeting to be held on Monday 27th March at 5.30pm – 6.30pm, Te Huinga Wai Waipukurau (opposite the Waipukurau train station). The meetings are friendly and informal and designed to hear what our local businesses need to grow and thrive. If you’ve got ideas but can’t make it, Justine is keen to hear from you so pop into Sloans on Takapau Road or give her a call - 06 8588411
