Central Hawke's Bay District Council’s Housing Strategic Framework

The issue of housing is complex and a Council alone cannot provide or address all housing needs, however we recognise there is a role we can play, alongside other partners.

Below is the link to Central Hawke’s Bay District Council’s first Housing Strategy. It outlines our thinking and planning for Housing for the next ten years.

The scope this strategy could include is immense. Into the future we want to be able to support our community across the spectrum of housing issues, however for the first ten years, we are focused on delivering on housing issues that impact the most vulnerable in our community.

Tamatea Housing Taskforce

The goal of the Tamatea Housing Taskforce is to create a sustainable pathway for housing our people of Tamatea. - Central Hawke's Bay, that puts their wellbeing at the centre. This blueprint will help us achieve that goal.

The key to successfully delivering change lies in working together. This blueprint has been developed alongside the communities of Tamatea - Central Hawkes Bay and it will be delivered in partnership with these communities and other key stakeholders. In 2019, Central Hawkes Bay District Council adopted the Housing Strategic Framework 2019 - 2029. It was Council's first housing strategy and it focused on supporting the most vulnerable in our community. With the much wider remit and the partnership approach of this strategy we are all looking forward to seeing the results of this across our district.
