Te Māhuri – Paid Work Experience
“Māhuri” is a sapling when nurtured the tree grows tall and strong, as will a person with gained experience, support and general wellbeing. Te Māhuri is a paid work experience programme designed to support young jobseekers into employment pathways they could not otherwise access and at the same time empowering our local businesses to grow and take on extra staff at reduced financial risk. Jobs in Central Hawke’s Bay provide a wage subsidy to the employer for a 6 month period, with the intention that this will lead to ongoing sustainable employment for the participant.
