Today Mayor Alex Walker has called an emergency extraordinary Council Meeting. Under Standing Orders, emergency meetings can be called when it is not practicable to follow the usual extraordinary or ordinary meeting schedule. Given the evolving situation regarding COVID-19 and the Drought, the Central Hawke’s Bay District Council will be meeting to consider urgent matters relating to community response and recovery.
The emergency extraordinary Council Meeting will take place at 5:00pm in Council Chambers, 28-32 Ruataniwha Street, Waipawa.
Council Chambers is currently closed to the public. We will communicate Council’s decisions via Council channels following the meeting.
We will be taking all appropriate measures to ensure hygiene and social distancing guidelines are adhered to as directed by the Ministry of Health.
