AA Services are on the move with the Waipukurau Library and Service Centre being the new home of AA Services in Central Hawke’s Bay from Monday 4 February 2019.Following the current Central Hawke’s Bay provider of AA Services seeking to end their Contract in late 2018, Central Hawke’s Bay District Council were approached to undertake services on behalf of the Central Hawke’s Bay Community.
“Combining AA Services with Libraries has been a successful fit in other rural locations throughout New Zealand”, says Sheelah Ranson, National Manager for AA Government Contracts. “We are looking forward to seeing increased AA Service offerings and the other benefits this new arrangement will bring for Central Hawke’s Bay”.
The range of services available from the previous provider will remain the same, including Driver Licencing, the registration of vehicles, change of ownership and other services the community have come to expect from AA. The change in AA location will also see the hours of operation extended to the Central Hawke’s Bay community, now open during busy lunch time periods from 9am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday.
Specific local Library staff have recently completed their certification to provide AA services and have spent time with the current local operator learning and gaining specific local knowledge. Library staff are excited about the further range of services they are supporting their community with by providing AA Services.
“This is a really exciting opportunity for Central Hawke’s Bay Libraries as we continue to increase our relevance to the Central Hawke’s Bay Community”, says Sue Fargher Central Hawke’s Bay District Council Library Services Manager. “AA Services combining with Libraries is a natural fit as we support our community in the sharing of knowledge and literacy in the most-widest sense”.
“We look forward to seeing a whole new range of people experiencing the offerings Library has to support our community to Thrive”.
