Ōtāne Town Hall Site - Intention to Grant a Lease

Central Hawke’s Bay District Council proposes to grant a ground lease to Progressive Ōtāne for the Council freehold land at 27 Higginson St, Ōtāne (corner Ross/Miller St, known as Ōtāne Town Hall site).

Progressive Ōtāne plans to relocate the former Kaikora Hotel whare building to this site for use as a Community Museum. This proposal was previously discussed with the Ōtāne community and included in 2022 Reserve Management Plan. We now want to hear community feedback.

 Proposed Lease Details:

  • Maximum term: 20 years
  • Ground area: approx. 70m2
