Council Meeting starts 9am, Thursday 14 December 2023

Council Meeting Thursday 23 March 900am

 Tune in to our Facebook live stream this morning for the Council Meeting from 9am or watch via the TV screens in either of our libraries.

Today’s meeting includes the following items for discussion:

• Officers will update on the significant costs the council is having to grapple with – the same as many households - as it prepares its budgets and Three Year Plan to help to set rates. It is asking Council to endorse two budget focus areas and its early intentions to engage and consult with the community on the options.

• Council will be presented with a vaping petition from the Otāne Community against the presence of a vape shop in Otāne and seeking its closure.

• An update will be given on the project to rebuild the Tukituki (Tarewa) swing bridge.

• In addition, Council will hear a presentation from Lake Whatumā Management Group about progress on lake restoration and development plans.
