Council Services Over the Holidays

Council Offices

The Council office in Waipawa is closing on Friday 22 December 2023 at 12 noon and reopening on Monday 8 January at 8am.
Although our office will be closed, you can still contact our Customer Service team on 06 857 8060 (24-hour service).
Some Council services will be available at our libraries from 10am on Wednesday 3 January 2024.

• Open normal hours from 10am on Wednesday 3 January 2024

Kerbside Collections

Waipukurau (Pink Zone) - no collection on Christmas Day, collection on Friday 22 December instead.

Otherwise, recycling and rubbish collection as normal, place kerbside by 7:30am. Only rigid plastics 1,2 and 5 are recyclable. For more information click here.

Transfer Stations

• Waipawa, Pōrangahau, Takapau: Open 10am - 2pm on Sunday 24 December.
• Waipukurau: Closed Christmas Day

Rural Recycling Trailers

Trailers not operating on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
Otherwise, operating normal hours from 8am to 4pm as follows:

• Monday & Tuesday : Elsthorpe and Argyll Halls
• Wednesday: Omakere Hall
• Thursday & Friday: Sherwood and Flemington Schools
