The Big Easy 2018

The Big Easy on the Hawke’s Bay Trails is the ultimate antidote to all those serious lycra laden cycling events held across the country. The Big Easy ride is a gentle ride and we encourage you to take all day and enjoy the many tasty Hawke’s Bay distractions along the way.

Easter Saturday 31st March: The Big Easy
Saturday 31st March will see us riding out from Black Barn Vineyards in Havelock North, heading out on River Road to hit the Hawke’s Bay Trails.

After enjoying 42km of tasty stops, you will aim to finish at Church Road Winery for the finale party and concert which starts at 2pm (but if you take longer that’s ok, it means you are enjoying all the distractions along the way!). Stay tuned for the concert announcement...it will be BIG.

The Clive "Family Start" will feature again, to help little legs (and some not so little legs) make it to the finish line.

Adults $35 and Kids (15 and under) $15. For that you get a top notch T Shirt, concert entry and access to the Big Easy deals on the route so you can stop, sip and sup your way along the ride.

Transport can be booked so you can leave your car at the start or end and not have to worry about finding your way back. Transfers are $10 per person, per transfer.

1. Park your car at the Church Road finish line, and take the bus to The Big Easy start line - Black Barn Vineyard, Havelock North.

Be at Church Road Winery from 7:45am to pick up your registration pack, load your bike and hop onto your bus to Black Barn Vineyard. Buses will start departing from 8:15 am with the last bus leaving at 8:45am sharp! Once you get to Black Barn Vineyard, Havelock North, collect your bike and enjoy the atmosphere before riding out at 10:00am.

2. Park your car at the Church Road finish line, and take the bus to the The Big Easy - Clive Family Start.

Be at Church Road Winery from 9:00am to pick up your registration pack, load your bike and hop onto your bus to Clive! The bus will depart at 9:30am sharp! Once you get to the Clive Family Start, collect your bike and enjoy the atmosphere before riding out at 10:30am.

3. If you are taking the bus back to Black Barn Vineyard, Havelock North or Clive at the end of The Big Easy...

When you arrive at Church Road Winery, make your way to the signposted area to drop off your bike for transportation then head into the concert! Your bikes will be transported back to Black Barn Vineyard, Havelock North and Clive and will be under supervision by security until you arrive to collect your bikes.

Buses back to Black Barn Vineyard, Havelock North and Clive will leave at 5:30pm.
