Elsthorpe Road - Racecourse Road Intersection

To improve road safety council will be completing some minor improvement of the intersection of Elsthorpe Road and Racecourse Road.

Higgins {CHB) will be carrying out work that will entail the realignment of the intersection by lowering the road height on the Racecourse Road side and the raising of the carriageway height from the Elsthorpe Road section of the intersection which will improve safety by increasing the sight distance at the intersection.

Higgins plan to execute this work in a continuous programme over approximately a 6 week period to ensure the minimum of disruption to the residents but with a major upgrade such as this there will be times when traffic will be under stop/go for a short period during daylight hours. We will endeavour to keep these periods as brief as possible and will assist all residents as much as we can, Emergency vehicles will have access provided at all times.

The attached map provides the location of the work area and location of the road works. Council apologizes in advance for any inconvenience this work may cause

The success of this Project will safety and will be advantageous to all road users.

  • Project start date 24th April 2017
  • Projected completion date  5th June 2017
