Takapau Water Routine Maintenance

Routine Maintenance in the form of "pigging" will be carried out on the Takapau water network

Wednesday  19th April 2017

and lasting for a period of:

two weeks

There may be some temporary disruption to supplies during this process. Even though every effort will be taken to flush the pipework, residents are asked to run their water until satisfied it is clear.

Pigging is a process used to clean the water pipes using special sponge swabs which are inserted into and flushed through the pipes. The abrasive action of the swabs cleans the inside of the pipes. It is called 'pigging' because the swabs resemble the shape of pigs bodies.

Thank you for your cooperation.
